My interest in photography goes back many years. From my first 110 point-and-shoot camera at age ten, I learned to love capturing images on film. As a young adult, my interest in still photography continued while friends and family moved on to video. For me, there just wasn't anything better then being able to browse through a photo album, step back in time and allow my mind to imagine the event captured in each picture. I have never lost that fascination with printed images.
I enjoy all aspects of photography; however, I am especially drawn to Fine Art Photography. Seeing my image of a vast landscape or creatively orchestrated composition caught on film, I feel the inspiration drawn by the piece, and it’s exactly as I had imagined. This creativity is evident in my portrait photography, as well, and I apply my artistic style to every wedding and portrait session. If you ask me to put a name to my style, I would probably have to lean more toward editorial for my portrait sessions. I like to capture the moments as they happen during a wedding while keeping the ideas of the Bride and Groom in mind.
Much of what I've learned has been through self study, workshops, and by consulting other photographers. Over the years, I’ve developed an expertise with landscape and fine art photography; however, wedding and portrait photography is an emerging interest of mine. I am currently enrolled in a certification program to develop stronger skills in all forms of photography. I use Professional Minolta and Sony equipment that produces high quality images. My DSLR camera body is a 12mp Sony Alpha a700. Coupled with a line of Minolta lenses and professional photo printing on Kodak Endura archival photo papers, you will be provided with a professional image that will last you a life-time.
When I'm not with photography clients or taking fine art photographs, I'm working for my full-time employer of 28 years or spending time with my family. My long term goals are to work full-time as a photographer once I retire from my other job in a couple of years. I'm looking forward to moving forward with my new career in photography.
